Article 4 ~ front of house painted

Hi
My house is in Hastings in an article 4 zone.
My front of house was painted by a company that did not obtain council approval..
I’m wanting to sell, and a bit bamboozled as to what is best.
Should I apply for retrospective approval?
The house was already painted. It was repainted in a slightly later shade of the original colour. I’m a bit confused as to whether or not they should have obtained permission.
Help/advice greatly appreciated.

What is the exact nature of the Article 4 Direction? Does it restrict some or all Permitted Development rights?

Hi, thanks for responding. Tbh, I’m not sure. I’ve been looking at the Hastings council website trying to work it out.

You may have to get in contact with Planning and request the PD restrictions for your property.

In the meantime, if you’d like to provide your postcode then I can see what I can find out initially.

Having checked the Council’s website, Berlin Road isn’t listed as being within an Article 4 Direction area or a Conservation Area. If you’re adamant it is, then you will have to get in contact with Planning so they can direct you to where it does state that information…
