A neighbour has purchased a plot of agricultural land adhacebt to hus jarge garrb. He gas constructed an access road and a karge hardstanding which he says us for a triple oak framed carport/garage in the latest fashion. I can find no applications for change if use or planning permission on the council website. Am I correct in thinking that this is likely to be a breach of planning regulations? In which case wgat might happennif the council find out- it is visible from the road.I also own agricultural labd abd had always believed that constructionnon it could be problematic not to mention owls newts bats etc.

I do apologise for my typing errors. That should of course read that he has constructed a large hardstanding on a plot of agricultural land adjacent to his big gardeb!

You would have to look up permitted developments. It is a great temptation to develop private/agri land for greater practicality/utility but one can eaily run afoul of planning.

We have produced a great guide for planning permission for smallholdings/farms with a questionnaire and download custom guide. Have a go - any feedback welcome: https://goo.gl/g5Zozf
