Our house has existing 4x3.5m extension (pitched rood) plus a lean-to 1.7x3.5m (with polycarbonate roof) on the right side. I would like to knock-off the wall between lean-to and current extension and convert lean-to in main habitable area. We plan to use part of new extension as dinning and also install downstairs WC/Shorwer room.
The lean-to is adjoining to neighbours wall. There is no increase in the exiting building area but only conversion of the lean-to into habitable area. Do I need planning permission and building regs or just the latter?

Assuming the existing lean-to is a unheated space, then to make it habitable would only normally require BR’s.

Lean to at the side of kitchen 4m x 3m want to convert Lean to area by putting doors and a wall at the side currently a fence divides us from neighbour.also put a roof on slope or flat making a summer room or current patio doors removed and extend living room.Would we need foundations current quote 6000 for foundations.for doors one wall and a roof.

As you’ll be making the space/room habitable, it’ll need to meet Building Regulations and would therefore require foundations.
Depending on its size and position, it may also require Planning.

Hi, I have an attached garage on the side of the house that the previous owner built on top of to make a bedroom on the first floor. However they only built halfway on top of garage. My question is what type of planning permission would I need to extend the first floor extension by the remaining 2 and half meters? Any help would be appreciated
Imran

You will need to submit a Householder application.
