Decking - Distance from neighbouring property

Hi All,

Is there a minimum legal requirement that decking has to be from a neighbouring property? I take it that you can't build it right up to a neighbours external wall?

Regulations seem to suggest not, but so little information from official websites.

Not from a Planning perspective. But you should be aware of the Party Wall Act.

Would we have to leave enough access room for maintenance/ painting of the wall?

But they would have to access your land to do that wouldn’t they?
