Extension over garage

so, i live in a link detached house, my garage links to my neighbor... i want to put another floor on top of it and extend out my bedroom, bathroom and kids bedroom over the garage... can i do this? i am not changing the use of the garage, that will remain.. i cannot find anything on the planning portal to give guidance.. thanks

should have added, the neighbor doesn't have a window over looking my garage roof, and whilst it would run the full length of the house, Front to Back, it wont extend past my or their house.

Yes you can but its a householder planning application and therefore subject to approval

There are lots of houses have been extended as you describe on my estate in Leeds

You'll need a party wall agreement in place though
