Front/Rear Garden wall

My front and rear garden meet 3/4 of the way down the side of my house. There is a wall and a fence separating the 2. It is a new build property and the wall is on the roadside. Can I extend this wall by approx 2M, so as to incorporate a shed as long as it stays on my property or do I need planning permission?
