New back gate in current fence - Trees on public land behind.

Hello.

We want to put a gate in the existing fence in our back garden. It will open into a public green space, but there are a couple of small trees surrounding the potential gate opening. The trees are owned by the council, its not a big woodland but a couple of trees planted behind our house by the developers a few years ago. Any advise would help.

It would not require Planning approval if that is what you’re asking.
