Origional chimney

Hi,

We have an old timber shed/barn with a freestanding inglenook fireplace and chimney. We believe the fireplace is older than the shed/barn. My husband seems to think there was an old law which stated that you could errect a dwelling if the origional fireplace remains. Does anyone know if this is correct? Many thanks
