Theee is no room at the rear, the garden is to the front and right hand side looking at the front door. To the left is a road and in that side of the property there are only 2 windows overlooking the road.
The front door looks over the front gsrden and driveway and is about a faith of an acre in front.
My question is, which is the principle elevation? We would ideally like to add a double story extension (like an L) from the left side of the property when looking at the front door which runs parallel to the road, no closer to the road but forward of our front door.
Are you able to drive what is required with something like this is permitted or planning and is there a likely issue of going forward of our front door if we need planning?
Thank you so much

Once you have established the principle elevation, there are restrictions with two storey extensions. Firstly, they can only go on the rear and not the side of a property.
Any development between the house and a highway would require Planning. Similarly to any development forward of the principle elevation would also require Planning.

Can 2 story extensions be built at the front with planning, not at the side
