Roof terrace London

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has experience of applying for planning permission in London to make a flat roof into a roof terrace? The property I'm looking at already has a roof terrace and fll door to access it. However it seems that it's undemised and has never had planning permission. If I wanted to make changes to the roof terrace, for example replace the current decking and put up new dividers / sides to replace existing ones which are broken - woud i require planning permission?
