WE are wanting to convert above our double garage to a granny annex so we can have my parents come and stay, normally they live in Spain for 6 months of the year.
It has been mentioned that a stipulation on the planning would be that this is ancillary to the house, if we wanted to rent this out for the other 6 months what would be the process for this.

You need planning permission if separate use and self contained to rent out.
