Windows - Help!!

Hi there, I have recently had installed new UPVC windows (Flush Sash - made to look authentic and within keeping) into my cottage which I have just discovered is in a conservation area. Somebody has complained and the local council are now in contact. What option shave I? Am I in for having to replace all the windows again (just spent £12,000)? :(

If they are made to look authentic and within keeping then the council 'should' not have any issues. Seeing before and after pics would help.
